The Council for Advancement and Support of Education District VII recently awarded the UC Davis Graduate School of Management a silver distinction for the winter 2009 and spring/summer 2009 issues of the Innovator, its biannual alumni magazine. The category was print external audience newsletters/ tabloids category.

WATER
Contributed eight sidebars and one photo to "Down the drain: Can California resolve its water management crisis?" The four-part Comstock's series, written with Rich Ehisen, ran September-December 2009.
The series won an award:
* Maggie, Western Publishing Association, best series of articles/consumer, 2010.
IMMIGRATION
Wrote six sidebars for "California dreaming: the economy's polarizing debate over immigration reform." The three-part series by Rich Ehisen on immigration and the economy ran in Comstock's business magazine, September-November 2008.
The series won two awards in 2009:
*Silver, Azbee, American Society of Business Publication Editors, national best feature series, magazines with a circulation under 80,000;
*Maggie, Western Publishing Association, best series of articles/consumer.
